Eyelid Surgery
A blepharoplasty is a procedure to remove fat from the lower eyelids (under the eye) and to remove excess skin from the upper eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping ("droopy") upper lids and the puffy bags under the eyes which make you look older and more tired than you feel. The effect is to give the eyes a more rested and youthful look.
The procedure is done on an outpatient basis under anesthesia. Initial mild discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication. |
Bruising, swelling and sensitivity to light can be expected for one to two weeks.
